I have been teaching English/language arts at WRMS since 2014. I started my teaching career in 2009 at Warner Robins High School (Rumble Academy). Prior to teaching, I worked in the government sector for almost 20 years - first at the Japanese Embassy in Washington, D.C., then at the International Center of the City of Osaka, Japan, and finally for the City of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, where I worked for ten years as the City's first public information officer.
As a high school student, I won a scholarship through FCCLA (then called FHA) to live with a host family for a summer in Japan. I enjoyed it so much that I spent a year in college studying Japanese language and culture at Nanzan University in Nagoya. I love to speak Japanese, eat Japanese food, and I look forward to a day when I can return to see my friends and Japanese host family in Osaka.
I am originally from Nebraska and return each summer to visit my father and other family and friends. I am married and have two sons - one is a junior at the University of Alabama, and the other is a junior at Veterans High School.
I LOVE being an English teacher at WRMS!
